We invite you to apply for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Bioethics Academy's Foundations in Bioethics Course, a two-day intensive program held in Athens, Greece.
Led by experts from the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and ETH Zurich’s Health Ethics and Policy Lab, this course offers participants the opportunity to build a strong foundation in bioethics through lectures, case discussions, and interactive small group discussions.

Participation in the SNFBA's Foundations in Bioethics Course is free of charge for all accepted applicants. The course is fully supported through the generosity of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
To preserve the quality of the learning experience, the total number of participants is limited to 50.

For students, trainees, and early-career professionals

This session is designed for:
- Medical students in their 4th, 5th, or 6th year
- Senior students in biology, psychology, nutrition, law, or biomedical sciences
- Junior resident doctors and early-career biomedical researchers
Note: Participants must already hold a BA or be close to completing their degree. Early undergraduate students are not eligible.

About the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Bioethics Academy
Established in 2019, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Bioethics Academy (SNFBA) is a collaborative initiative between the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics (JHU) and the Chair in Bioethics at ETH Zurich (ETH). Generously supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), SNFBA was created to enhance bioethics education and awareness in Greece, providing a platform for learning, discussion, and professional development in bioethics.
The SNFBA aims to:
- Provide high-quality bioethics education for university students, professionals, educators, and policymakers.
- Foster a network of bioethics scholars and practitioners in Greece and internationally.
- Support ethical decision-making in medicine, healthcare, research, and emerging technologies.
- Equip professionals with bioethics knowledge and tools to navigate ethical challenges in biomedical and clinical research.
