Nikolas Dimakis holds a first degree in History and Archaeology (Athens, 2007), and a M.A. and a PhD in Archaeology (both at the University of Nottingham, 2008, 2012) under prestigious scholarships and awards. Before joining the Department of History and Archaeology in 2020 he worked as post-doctoral fellow in various research projects of excellence, as adjunct faculty at the University of Athens and the University of Crete, and as a contract archaeologist at the Greek Ministry of Culture.

He specializes in the funerary archaeology of the Classical through to the Roman times in Greece and the eastern Mediterranean. His research focuses on the interplay of status, identity, and emotions in the burial context.
