Christy Constantakopoulou is currently Researcher in the Section of Greek and Roman Antiquity, in the Institute of Historical Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation. She was previously Professor of Ancient History and Classics in Birkbeck College. Her research focuses on the social, political, economic and cultural history of the Aegean, on religion, epigraphy, and ancient historiography. She has published The Dance of the islands. Insularity, Networks, the Athenian empire and the Aegean world , OUP 2007 και and Aegean Interactions. Delos and its networks in the third century, OUP 2017. She has edited with Irad Malkin and Κατερίνα Παναγοπούλου, Greek and Roman networks in the Ancient Mediterranean, Routledge 2009, and with Maria Fragoulaki, Shaping Memory in Ancient Greece: Poetry, Historiography and Epigraphy. Histos Supplements 2020. She is co-editor with Hans Beck and Jeremy McInerney of the 7 volumes project entitled Oxford History of the Classical Greek World. She is currently working on a monograph on the history of the Athenian empire and on a monograph provisionally entitled A Social History of Ancient Greek Hunting.
